About Me

I am Marshall Piros, a fourth-year student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, pursuing a B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Science Communication, and a Certificate in Technical and Professional Communication. I hope this website gives you a picture of my skills and abilities. Use the navigation bar at the top to see my experience and portfolio, and feel free to reach out.

I’ve been passionate about words for as long as I can remember, always spotting typos and editing errors in books, magazines, and online (and wishing I could fix them). At Cal Poly, I’ve sharpened my skills in writing, editing, and collaboration through coursework in technical, business, and organizational communication. Beyond the classroom, I apply these skills in real-world settings like crafting user-friendly knowledge base content for Cal Poly’s ITS department and writing for Make: magazine, and I’ve also managed social media content for a campus program.

I like to convey information in a precise way and appreciate the challenge of making information engaging and accessible. When I’m not writing or editing, I love to read, walk at the beach, and play video games.
