This page shows work done in a class called Information Design & Production. Our first major assignment was an Information Redesign Challenge, and my team collaborated with the Cal Poly Quarter Plus program to refresh several social media templates. We started by analyzing the program’s existing social media presence and identified areas to improve variety and clarity. We wrote a proposal for our client and then worked within Cal Poly’s branding guidelines to redesign recurring templates – such as hiring ads, staff introductions, countdown alerts, and activity schedules. This project strengthened my skills in client collaboration, design software, and project management while reinforcing the importance of balancing creativity with brand consistency. Here is part of my contribution to the overall project.
Original Staff Introduction Template
This is a sample of what the Learning Assistant (LA) introduction posts looked like. The template contained a photo of the LA with the bio text to the right. My team felt that a photo overlay would enhance the clarity and would make the purpose immediately identifiable.

Redesigned Option #1
The first option kept the square template but added the Quarter+ logo at the top and the LA’s name and title at the bottom. Their bio will appear on a second slide in the carousel.

Redesigned Image #2
The second option is a round design, keeping the Quarter+ logo at the top and the LA’s name and title at the bottom. Like Option #1, the bio appears in the carousel.

Original Quarter Plus Learning Assistant Recruitment Template
The original hiring post contained a video with interviews from past LAs.
While it was wonderful and engaging, the front slide lacked any visual appeal.

Redesigned Option #1
I redesigned the front slide to show one of the most appealing aspects of being an LA – working on the team. This design features classic Cal Poly green and gold and fronts the post’s purpose.

Redesigned Image #2
This is a second option for the front slide, which uses Cal Poly’s secondary colors. The LA group photo is centered, and the color scheme is light and fresh.
