I am Marshall Piros, a fourth-year student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, pursuing a B.A. in Communication Studies with a double minor in Technical and Professional Communication and Science Communication. I’ve been passionate about words for as long as I can remember, always spotting typos and editing errors in books, magazines, and online (and wishing I could fix them). At Cal Poly, I’ve sharpened my skills in writing, editing, and collaboration through coursework in technical, business, and organizational communication. Beyond the classroom, I apply these skills in real-world settings like crafting user-friendly knowledge base content for Cal Poly’s ITS department, writing for Make: magazine, or managing social media content for a campus program.
I enjoy conveying information in a precise manner and appreciate the challenge of making it engaging and accessible. When I’m not writing or editing, I enjoy reading, walking on the beach, and playing video games.
